“The world changes from year to year, our lives “The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you shall never pass away.” – Unknown Since setting out to build GWL Skatepark in memory of Dale Hirrel, we’ve been constantly amazed by the outpouring of love, support and goodwill from his family, friends, and acquaintances. It truly speaks volumes about the impression Dale left on all of our lives. Today, February 26th 2023, would have been Dale’s 23rd birthday, so please join us in taking a moment to remember and honor him, his infectious smile, his sense of humor and the passion he had for his family, his friends and skateboarding. Dale, we’re closer than ever to building your skatepark!
November 5th Skate Jam Recap: Yesterday was such a November 5th Skate Jam Recap: Yesterday was such a great day! Warm weather, blue skies and a great turnout. The @warwickskatepark and @gwlskatepark game of skate was a Huge Success!! @shred.co showed up with all the gear and pads to give the groms a fresh start and introduction to skateboarding. Our fantastic sponsors @gentlegiantbrewing @oc.snowboards @mountaincreek @raffavinny @powersskateboards @tacohombre2.0 supplied awesome prizes for everyone that showed up and brought the stoke! Painting and crafts were happening and music to get everyone in the mood was playing all throughout the day. The Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard came out to to give his support of everyone having a good time! Events like this solidify the reason why we are working so hard to get these parks built. Having a safe, encouraging environment for people of all ages and walks of life to come together and have fun encouraging each other is what it’s all about. If you have the means to support @warwickskatepark and @gwlskatepark please do, you won’t be sorry and it adds to the community more than you can ever imagine.
