A great time was had by all at the recent GWL Skatepark Movie Night fundraiser held on Friday, July 30th 2021 at The Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park in GWL for a screening of the 80’s classic The Goonies. We were also supported by our friends at Avantoberfest, specialists in European cars, that provided an amazing show of classic and performance cars from the region and who donated all the funds they raised that evening to...
Once again Crystals of Quartz hosted a fantastic Psychic Faire and donated a portion of her proceeds to GWL Skatepark. So, not only did she provide Greenwood Lake with a fun experience and a chance to interact with healers, readers and vendors, but she also helped GWL Skatepark raise another $1,136 toward our goal. Thank you @crystalsofquartz (website) and thank you to all of her volunteers, including Dylan Cosgrove
Today all of us at @gwlskatepark want to take a moment to thank everyone who was involved in making this years 3rd annual #doitfordale Skateboard Art Auction a success! THANK YOU to the artists who gave their time and talents as well as all who bid on boards to help us raise money to build a premier community skatepark! Fund raising is difficult in these uncommon times, but know our commitment and focus remains clear, WE...
Our efforts are now reaching as far as San Fransisco! Thanks so much to DLXSF for helping us reach the followers of your brands (close to 42,000 of them on FB!) … helping us reach more skaters/riders in even more states like this will certainly help us reach our fundraising goal sooner than later. Deluxe Distribution was originally founded to distribute the Beware Record label and various small record labels popular with skateboarders, along with Supercush Bushings...
It was a busy week for GWL Skatepark Corp. leading up to Easter, starting with a celebratory ribbon-cutting at the newly installed sign in CVS field marking the location for the future GWL Skatepark in Memory of Dale Hirrel. Many local residents and business owners attended the momentous event for our effort, and News 12’s Blaise Gomez aired a nice clip, giving GWL Skatepark Corp. the added publicity we really need. The sign serves as a point-of-reference for...
Volunteerism is a way for individuals and groups to make a specific contribution by generating well-being for people and their communities. We’ve been inspired by the number of people who have stepped forward to volunteer for the GWL Skatepark project during our early fundraising efforts. Today we’d like to highlight and thank in particular a special young volunteer whose singular efforts not only raised over $200 for the skatepark but also served to remind us that the youth of Greenwood Lake...
Hey GWL Skatepark supporters, you’ve got two more chances left to get those last-minute Christmas gifts for the skaters on your list and support the GWL Skatepark at the same time. We’ll have a booth at the performance of “A Magical Celtic World of Christmas” Wednesday, December 20th from 7-9pm at the Greenwood Lake Middle School with all of our new merchandise for sale. If you’re not able to attend that performance, we have a handful of dedicated volunteers who will also be setting up...
It’s been far too long since we posted about the many amazing events and good deeds that have been moving GWL Skatepark Corp closer to our fundraising goal. There were several events since our last posting in August, but we want to start by thanking Joe and Maureen Anthony of The Irish Whisper for planning, organizing and hosting the Lepre-con Pub Crawl back in September. 68 people attended and a number of local establishments participated by hosting the revelers. Participants were ferried...
The Greenwood Lake Reunion 2017, which is organized by local resident Tony Danato, was held Saturday, August 5th at the Elks Lodge. The event included food, drinks, a band, a DJ, free photos and video streaming of interviews with those in attendance, door prizes, souvenirs, activities for kids and charity competitions. This year Tony decided to also run a 50/50 raffle through which the event’s guests could rally to raise money for the GWL Skatepark! The raffle initially raised $280...
Since the installation of the first GWL Skatepark #DoItForDale donation boxes in Friendly Beer & Soda, Kwik Mart, and the Village Vape Shop, we now have close to twenty donation boxes installed in various business across both Greenwood Lake and Warwick, NY. The donation boxes have been successful due in part to our board member George Berger of the Village Vape Shop and also of
