We’re getting so close we can taste the concrete! Thank you to all of our supporters who have donated so far, and please help us spread the word. A few more large donations or corporate sponsorships and Greenwood Lake will have a first-class concrete skatepark!
In case you missed it, The Skatepark Project (formerly the Tony Hawk Foundation) recognized GWL Skatepark Corp’s efforts and awarded us the Spring 2021 Project Recognition Grant! We are truly honored to have been selected and recognized by such a prolific and respected organization! This Project Recognition Grant adds validity to the advocacy work and energy of GWL Skatepark and our impressive group of local supporters. Keep on pushing!
In addition, GWL Skatepark was awarded two separate grants from DASNY (Dormitory Authority of the State of NY)! The NYSAM Grant for $100,000 and the CREST grant for $120,000.
Dale Hirrel dreamed of having a skatepark in his hometown of Greenwood Lake, NY. However, in April of 2016 Dale perished tragically as a passenger in a car accident at the young age of 16.
In 2017 GWL Skatepark Corp. took up the torch and planned to bring Dale’s dream to reality. Please take a moment to watch this video of our Vice President Kurk Koziel as he provides an update on our history, our mission and the many ways in which our supporters can help take us over the finish line and get GWL Skatepark built for the village of Greenwood Lake and the surrounding communities.
